India & Myanmar (Burma)

Bonnie and I leave for India and Myanmar (Burma) on October 14 and will return to the states November 15. On this trip, we will acquaint ourselves personally and on site with several brethren with whom J.C. and Betty Choate have labored for a number of years. This will enable us to better utilize ourselves in the overall and ongoing work of world evangelism, edify Christians and be a part of bringing other souls to Christ a world away from Winona, Mississippi.

Both of us will have our respective opportunities to speak to numerous Christians and non-Christians. While Bonnie will teach possibly hundreds of ladies and children, I will teach at Bible schools and preach in meetings in the two countries.

Ordinarily, the trip for the two of us combined costs about $8,000 or a little more; in these times, we can be sure that the travel there and back will cost at least that much and probably more. To date, we have laid aside about $1,200 for this trip. We must rely on the genoros-ity of individual Christians and congregations as we collect the balance of the funds necessary to make this mission trip.
We must assemble the rest of the needed funds immediately, since the tickets must be purchased before applications can be made for the visas, and ticket prices are climbing by hundreds of dollars each week. Bonnie and I respectfully ask churches of Christ and members of the churches of Christ to participate financially with us in this trip. Please send your gift made out to Rushmore Evangelism Fund to the elders of the Vermilion, Ohio church of Christ at 5116 Driftwood Drive, Vermilion, OH 44089. Alternatively, one can contribute to our journey by selecting the “Donation” button atop this page. Every gift will be acknowledged with a personal note from me, and we will provide a report of our trip upon our return.
Below is a statistical summary of the successes this labor over the years has enjoyed, and sufficient reason for Bonnie and me (along with others) to help perpetuate the decades long labors in world evangelism begun the J.C. and Betty Choate.
