Foxes in the Desert

In Ezekiel 13:4, we read, “O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.”

Israel had become very wicked. They still claimed to be the children of God, but they had no intention of following him. They listened to any false prophet that would tell them what they wanted to hear.

God says these false prophets are like the foxes. The foxes at that time tended to live in ruins. They would find rundown buildings that were not being used.

These false prophets were not concerned for the welfare of the people. They only spoke what they would get paid to say. Therefore, they spoke only the things the people wanted to hear.

The people would not have listened to these false prophets if their faith were strong. However, their faith was weak and broken down. This allowed the false prophets to move in just as the fox moved into rundown buildings.

Do not allow foxes to move into your faith. Study your Bible. Obey God, and if any of this is hard to understand, ask an adult to help you.
