The Morning Cloud and the Dew

Have you ever noticed that at some times of the year when you get up in the morning there is water on the grass and plants? Most of the time it is in the form of little drops of water. This is dew. It did not rain. The water droplets formed there from the humidity in the air.

You may also have noticed that at times of the year that there is a fog in the air in the morning. It is like standing in a cloud. You cannot see very far when standing in it.

But when the sun gets high in the sky, and the temperature rises some, the fog and the dew disappear. They are only there for a short time and then go away.

In Hosea 6:4, God says that Israel and Judah had become like the morning cloud and the morning dew. He says their goodness is only for a short time. They quickly forget God and his laws. They go about doing their own things instead of the things of God.

Because of being like the cloud and the dew, God is going to punish them. They will be severely punished. Do not be like a morning cloud or the morning dew. Learn to live a good life according to the commandments of God. Then always live that good life. And if any of this is hard to understand, ask an adult to help you.
