A Muslim Desires to Become a Christian

Hi pastor. Kindly may u leads me to christ. Am Muslim who needed salvation. Crying for salvation via u. What can I do to be get saved. Rply sir. Isaac

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Christian, a child of God. It would be helpful to know where in the world you are and how you came to contact me. Nevertheless, please note the abbreviated information that will put becoming a Christian into perspective for you. Essentially, the basics are as follows.

  • The Old Testament, in which were two periods of religious history (Patriarchy, beginning with Adam and Eve, Genesis 1-3 and Judaism, beginning with Moses, Exodus 20) served as the foundation and preparation for the final period of religious history – Christianity (Galatians 3:19-25).
  • The Old Testament has been replaced with the New Testament (Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:15; Colossians 2:14; Romans 7:6-7; Hebrews 8:8-13), and the New Testament alone is the source of religious instruction (Jude 3; Galatians 1:6-9).
  • The Old Testament contains principles and valuable information (e.g., about God, obedience, disobedience, Romans 15:4), but the New Testament alone contains instructions for all people living today (i.e., how to become a child of God – a Christian – and how to make preparation for spending eternity in Heaven with God).
  • The New Testament teaches that hearing the Word of God produces faith (Romans 10:17; John 8:24). Following faith, one acknowledges his sins and repents of or turns from them (Luke 13:3, 5; Acts 17:30). Afterward, a person must be willing to acknowledge and profess Jesus of Nazareth to be the Christ – the Messiah (Matthew 10:32; Acts 8:36-39; Romans 10:9-10).
  • The New Testament teaches that, following the preceding, baptism (immersion) in water for the forgiveness of sins saves a person (Mark 16:15-16; Acts 2:38; 22:16; 1 Peter 3:21), and Jesus Christ places the saved into His church (Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:47); “the churches of Christ” (Romans 16:16) is one of the biblical descriptions of the Lord’s church about which one can read in the New Testament. Through baptism, a person imitates the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-5) and puts on Christ (Galatians 3:27).
  • After baptism, a Christian must remain faithful, even if one’s faithfulness is the reason for which someone may kill him (Revelation 2:10).
  • One’s Christian life is supposed to be characterized by moral purity (Titus 2:11-13) and Christian service (Titus 2:14).
  • Christians must worship God in His own appointed way: prayer (1 Corinthians 14:15), singing without instrumental accompaniment (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16), teaching or preaching (Acts 20:7), a weekly, freewill contribution (2 Corinthians 9:6-7; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2) and partaking of the Lord’s Supper weekly (Acts 20:7). Assembly for worship is required weekly on the Lord’s Day or the first day of the week (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2; Revelation 1:10).
  • The New Testament provides instructions for the Christian home (Ephesians 5:22-6:4; Colossians 3:18-25; Titus 2:1-8), as well as for employees and employers (Ephesians 6:5-9; Colossians 4:1-2).
