A happy home is one where Christ is the head of the home and his work has supreme authority (Psalm 117:97, 105; John 17:7-8; 12:48).
A happy home is one where the husband is the head of the home (Ephesians 5:23). This means that he furnishes the leadership in the spiritual, physical and moral areas of the household.
A happy home is one where the wife is in subjection to the leadership of the husband (Ephesians 5:22). It is sad that so often this CANNOT be the case because of the husband’s attitudes and lack of leadership in areas of spirituality and responsibility (1 Corinthians 7:12-16; 1 Peter 3:1-2).
A happy home is one in which the husband loves his wife even to the point where he would be willing to give his life for her (Ephesians 5:25).
A happy home is one where the wife has learned to love her husband and children (Titus 2:4).
A happy home is one where the husband and wife love each other more than parents, children, friends and recreation. In fact, only their loyalty to Jehovah is greater than the love found within the marital relationship (Matthew 19:5).
A happy home is one where children are obedient to their parents (Ephesians 6:1-2).
A happy home is one where parents love their children enough to discipline them and encourage them spiritually (Ephesians 6:4).
A happy home is one where Christ comes first in all things (Matthew 6:33; Philippians 1:21).
