According to Webster’s New World Dictionary, the word “evolution” derives from the Latin “evolution” and means “an unrolling or opening.” It is a term that is typically used in reference to something that experiences a progression of change, such as, a child growing into an adult. Most often, however, this term is used in reference to organic evolution which holes that man owes his origin to the gradual processes of life evolving from non-life. The overwhelming majority of the scientific community has ascribed to the theory of evolution and promotes it both widely and loudly.
However, those who believe in God accept the Genesis account of creation, which asserts that man owes his existence to God who created him. Creationists examine the teachings of evolution and are bewildered at how anyone could ascribe to a theory that is propped up on falsehoods, fabrications, and fairy tales. Consider, if you will, the following insurmountable hurdles that the theory of evolution cannot overcome.
Evolution is unprovable. Herein is the most egregious case of “getting the cart before the horse” in all of history. Evolutionists are feverishly trying to link together all the pieces that supposedly show the ameba to man process, when they have no explanation for the origin of life. They conjecture that man’s origin is the result of spontaneous combustion. That is, billions of years ago a random explosion produced living matter. The law of biogenesis states that life comes from life. That means that it is scientifically impossible for non-life to produce life. When questioned about that, the evolutionists respond, “Well, it must have happened once.” To believe that is to believe that which is unprovable. In fact, it is impossible!
Evolution is unsuitable. The theory of evolution is absolutely unsuitable to produce a stable and a healthy society. The primary reason for believing in evolution is that it is the sole alternative to belief in God. If God exists, then man is responsible to God in the realm of morality. On the other hand, rejection of God frees man’s conscience to live without moral restraints. The result of that is an immoral and an unsafe society. Consider the truthfulness of these words: “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good” (Psalm 14:1). This verse warns that those who reject belief in God develop lives of corruption and abomination. That was true of Sodom and Gomorrah; it was true of Nazi Germany; and it is verified around the world today! Evolution is unsuitable to produce a society that is safe.
Evolution is unbelievable. Actually, it is difficult to find any part of the theory of evolution that is believable. Evolutionists inflated dating techniques are not credible. Evolutionary scientists have dated the earth at approximately 4.5 to 5 billion years old. This number just keeps getting bigger and bigger because everyone admits that time is an absolute essential to the evolutionary process. Then, there is the long list of “missing links” that would prove that man evolved from apes. There was the Piltdown Man, the Java Man, the Nebraska Man and a host of others. All of these were boasted by the scientific community as proof of evolution, and every one have proven to be hoaxes. Evolution is just simply not believable.
Evolution is unsatisfying. Every human mind yearns to know where he came from, why he is here and what happens when he dies. Evolution has absolutely nothing to offer to satisfy those questions. However, God “has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3). He has explained our origin (Genesis 1:26-27). He has clarified our purpose upon this earth (Ecclesiastes 12:13), and He has revealed our journey into eternity (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). Evolution is unsatisfying, but God satisfies completely.
