As the Rain Cometh Down

Rain is a wonderful thing. Water is very important for all living things. Without water everything dies. Plants need water. Animals need water. Humans need water.

The rain comes down and is soaked up in the ground. It is taken in by the plants through the leaves and roots. The water helps the plants to grow. Eventually the plant produces its fruit or vegetable. Then humans are able to eat. The rain has a purpose and fulfills its purpose.

In Isaiah 55:10-11, we read, “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

God’s Word is like the rain. It comes down to us for a purpose. It is needed. Without it all humans die a spiritual death. We have to take it in. We have to put it to use like the plant puts water to use. If we take it in and use it, then we will produce fruit. God’s Word will produce fruit if used. It does not produce fruit if it is not used.

Are you taking in the Word of God? Are you using it to produce fruit? Study your Bible. Learn what it says. Use it. And if any of this is hard to understand ask an adult to help you.Image
