Driven Smoke

Have you ever watched a fire as it burns? Smoke will rise from the fire. As the fire burns out, the smoke will be all that is left. The smoke will rise and go in whichever direction the wind is blowing. It cannot decide which way it will go. It is driven by the wind. If the wind is blowing much, the smoke is blown away and soon forgotten.

Smoke is not wanted in one’s house. When smoke fills a house, the people inside will use fans to blow it out. Or, they will wave towels and blankets to blow it out and away.

The wicked are like the smoke. They show where the fire is burning. They are not wanted in God’s house. And they do not control where they will end up. God will blow them away. They will be blown into.

In Psalm 68:1-2, we read, “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.”

I do not want to be blown away from God. I want to live with God in heaven one day. I know you want the same thing.
