Social Media could easily be described as a bane to our existence. It has great tools and abilities (like the ability to waste my time if I let it). We were taught that computers are “Garbage In/Garbage Out,” but with social media we are not in the garbage control business. We are not social garbage engineers. Still, we make sure that what we put on social media is beneficial. I don’t dive deep into other people’s social media stuff because there may be something they would rather I didn’t see, though they may have posted it for the whole world. I try to, as some say, “tend to my own knitting.” I encourage you to think about what you post and who sees it. What I would like for you to do is visit our church Facebook page more regularly and “Like,” “Comment” or even “Share” some of the posts published there. This helps elevate our visibility in the infamous algorithms that aggravate some or annoy others. The increase traffic (measured by “likes,” “comments” or “shares”) raises our visibility. So, if you could visit our page and find something to “Like” each week or more often, that could be a big help. [Editor’s Note: Every Christian has the moral responsibility to use appropriately whatever tools are available—including the Internet and social media. How Christians use the Internet and social media can be either beneficial or detrimental to us and to those over whom we may have direct or indirect influence. ~
